Kris Schaible grew up in Central Pennsylvania where her father and grandmother helped her begin an artistic journey that has taken her through a wide variety of art mediums. This love of art has followed Kris through childhood, college and into her life today.
Many years ago Kris purchased a glass bead and was fascinated as to how to go about making such a bead. Paper weighs became a collection and glass began to creep into her daily life. While at a local festival, Kris and her husband saw a lampworking artist and that was the key to unlock the door into finally working with glass. Kris placed a small order for some glass rods and with her husbands help set up a torch and a few other needed supplies. Kris is mostly self taught, and now finds that glass has centered her creative efforts and is always striving to learn something new in the ever evolving world of glass. Kris is also the currentMid-Atlantic regional director for the International Socity of Glass Bead Maker, ISGB.
Today, Kris resides in Northeastern PA, where she is a wife, mother to 3 children, who they homeschool as well as a full time glass
Kris and her husband, John, also produce tools for other lampworking artists and have opened a 6 torch studio for lampworking classes. Please check out the events page for a list of up coming classes.
