Some FAQ

How do you learn how to make glass beads?

I read 2 different books to get the basics and then just set out and made a lot of bad beads at first and learned from my mistakes.

How long have you been making beads?

Almost  5 years now

What sort of glass do you use and where does it come from?

Used to use what is called soft glass and the "brand" is Effetre or Moretti and it comes from Germany and Italy. but I have reciently made the switch to COE 96 glass, due to its rich earth tone colors.

How do you melt the glass?

I have a mixed gas torch, so that means that it combines oxygen and propane to make a flame about 2500 degrees and I use a Gas Torch Technology torch because they are the best on the market!!!
Check out the link on the web links page.

How do you get all the different colors?

Each color in a bead is a different color rod of glass so it is a layering process to get the colors added to each bead, some beads can take as long as 45 minutes to complete!
Using the right equipment makes a difference. How come?
Using the right equipment can make all the difference in your finished product. I use to use a Cricket,Bobcat, or Lynx Torch from GTT   It is incredible.  Check out my web links to find out more about torches. If you have any questions there is a contact number.

That is it for now!
